Our Red Door retreat took home 2nd place honors in the 2022 Sub-Zero, Wolf & Cove Global Kitchen Design Contest. Over 1700 entries from over 15 countries and 45 states were submitted, and 29 semi-finalists were welcomed in Nashville where winners were announced. Global judges appreciated the creativity of the sliding stone panels behind the range, as well the entire pantry, a ‘little jewel box’ and totally different than the rest of the kitchen, but it works’ one judge said . Says Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero Group, Inc., ‘we applaud these outstanding creators who continue to innovate, inspire, and push the creative boundaries for incorporating our appliances in the kitchen and beyond. A heartfelt thank you to our clients, interior designer and builder for this unique collaboration.

RAVE AWARD, BEST OF KITCHEN 2015

PARK PLACE COTTAGE

Mpls. St.Paul Home & Design Magazine celebrates local Minnesota architects and their exceptional work through the RAVE Awards (Residential Architects Vision and Excellence). Each year, architects submit their best in architectural design in an effort to raise awareness of the many benefits of using a local architect for home projects.

Swan Architecture was honored to win first place in the best of kitchen category. One judge explained, “The team reverted to time-honored materials—like natural stone, divided glass uppers, and exposed hinges—punching them up a bit with black window sashes that, while simple, really gave definition to a white-on-white kitchen.”

Andrea Swan took a dark, dated, depressing space and created a bright, functional modern apartment. She oversaw every aspect of the project and elegantly solved any surprises that emerged during the remodeling.

She worked brilliantly with my contractor and was always creative, knowledgeable, respectful, constructive and courteous -- and demanding on behalf of her client.

“A CLASSIC REVIVAL”

CONTEMPORARY SHINGLE STYLE

Architecture MN magazine featured our Contemporary Shingle Style home in their 2013 May/June issue calling it, “a fresh, sophisticated take on the classic shingle-style.”

“Elevation Homes wanted something more distinguished than their highly successful contemporary cottages, and yet, of course, smaller than a Hamptons estate.” said architect Andrea Peschel Swan, AIA.

Swan Architecture (Andrea) designed our home. Our hope was to design a New England Cape Cod home with modern lines and influences. She absolutely nailed it. Not only was she very pleasant to work with, she listened

thoroughly to our ideas but then came up with creative solutions to our needs. We love how our house turned out - it has beautiful lines and yet it is so functional.

black book award

“TWIN CITIES MOST COVETED BUSINESSES”

Andrea was honored to be included as one of Twin Cities Business' most coveted resources in their annual Black Book listing. They wrote, 'Don't let Swan's trademark French Sailor shirt and khakis fool you. Like Leonardo da Vinci, she knows that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. After spending several years in New York, where she designed homes in the Hamptons and other tony resort destinations, Swan came back to her native Twin Cities, where she's busy designing in Highcroft, Cottagewood, Rolling Green, and other exclusive neighborhoods. Who knows? Swan may well design your next residence.'

Andrea Swan is a very talented architect. Her designs are always both smart and creative architecture. We enjoy collaborating with Swan Architecture because she consistently delivers beautiful homes.

Andrea and Constance were a dream to work with. It was such a collaborative and fun project that we did together. They were both excellent listeners and determined to understand what we wanted in our dream home

and then to create it for us. We were happy with the entire process and were surprised at how easy and fun they made it. I would highly recommend using them and in fact already miss not seeing them on a regular basis as our plans are complete. I think that says a lot!

TRENDS MAGAZINE

Each year Sotheby’s International properties publishes their Trends portfolio featuring the brands and individuals that influence the lifestyle and forward thinking design in real estate. Andrea is a true professional. She is remarkably talented and creative. Best of all, since we were first time home builders, she was extremely patient and was willing to spend the time necessary to address all of our thoughts and

questions and get the project right. She takes great pride in her work and in delivering what her client wants, yet is not afraid to use her experience to opine when things the client is requesting are not in keeping with her high standards. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Our experience working with Swan Architecture has been absolutely tremendous. Andrea and her team carefully listened to our desires and then designed a truly spectacular home -- one that is far beyond what we could envision.

She not only combined function and whimsy, but was also able to capitalize on the unique nature of our property. Andrea has stayed intimately involved throughout the construction process and has ensured that our dreams have become a reality. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend her firm.

“THE PORSCHE MACAN EXPERIENCE”

As Twin Cities tastemakers, Andrea along with 2 other professionals were invited to test drive the luxury Porsche Macan for one month and describe the experience in an Artful Living magazine feature.

She wrote, ‘Coming from a family of Eastern European descent with a preference for German-made cars, I was positively giddy at the chance to experience the Porsche Macan. I’ve always found the brand to be smart, sophisticated and luxuriously stylish. I’m admittedly not a huge auto aficionado. But now, after the opportunity to experience the Macan, I’m preparing myself for the emotional goodbye that will inevitably occur when I have to return it. It’s been a first-class Cinderella experience, and the ball is coming to its end. I may just have to consider keeping it so that the fantasy can continue.’
