Our Mountain Getaway is much more than a family ski home. All decisions were rooted in family nostalgia and memories I wanted to continue making in the near and distant future. True log home construction was an early decision we made for a few reasons. There’s nothing quite as pleasing as a log home after a long day of skiing. Especially when sourced locally, and crafted by hand. Secondly it’s a time honored, authentic and sustainable style of construction that I’ve always dreamed of doing. The home’s bold exterior, was directly inspired by traditional Slovak folk architecture as found in Cicmany, Slovakia.
